Oak House Benefits – Elevating Your Benefits Communications to Rockstar Status

Thursday, June 8th, Our final BHRN event of the year before taking a short summer break will feature DON WILLIAMSON, (formerly of The Williamson Group) from OakHouse benefits.
Beyond the Benefits Booklet – Elevating Your Benefits Communications to Rockstar Status
The OHB team will be joining us to share their insights s on the Best Practices in Benefit Plan Communication.
Don Williamson, Founder & President.
Don has 30 years of experience in the areas of employee benefits, sales and marketing, leadership, and business management. Employing the philosophy “If you build it, they will come,” Don launched a consultancy all his own – Oak House Benefits in 2020. Prior to founding Oak House Benefits, Don was President at The Williamson Group (TWG) before it was successfully acquired in 2015.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Brantford-Brant Chamber of Commerce. This year, Don is the Chair of the Brant United Way for their 75th anniversary, continuing his father’s and grandfather’s traditions. In fact, Don’s grandfather was the first-ever Chair.
When not focused on running OHB, Don is rocking out to Pearl Jam and Metallica when walking his furry pals Jordi and Wrigley.
Tammy Ryan, Benefits Consultant
Tammy has 20+ years of experience in the group benefits industry. Spending most of those years with The Williamson Group, Tammy joined Oak House as a Benefits Consultant in 2021, and we were excited to welcome her home.
Tammy manages a block of clients and works alongside the OHB team in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of any size and varied industries. She lends her voice to strategy, analysis, administration, complex issue resolution and communication of benefit plans.
When not busy benefiting with her clients, Tammy can be found “hooping” it up with the Brantford CYO Girls Basketball Club, where she’s been President for the past five years.
Jennifer Smola, Senior Communication and Engagement Specialist
Jenn has 20+ years of experience in the group insurance industry; Jenn is OHB’s in-house Communication and Engagement Specialist, playing a pivotal role in planning, supporting, and delivering strategic and engaging communications. Employing her motto of “What’s the point of a great benefits plan if no one knows how great it is.” she works to enhance the visibility of the benefits program by building awareness, excitement, and engagement.
When not captivating her audience’s attention, Jenn can be found banging on the glass of hockey arenas throughout southern Ontario, cheering on the Jr Rangers (she’s Kitchener mom!)
As our BHRN year comes to a close, we want to thank all of you for another successful year of networking and learning.
As always, these luncheons aren’t just for HR professionals! Bring your colleagues, friends and managers! Psssttt . . . We might even have a sweet treat for all attendees to mark another wonderful year.
